Ecosystems HD
Learn about different ecosystems with this interactive app
Publisher: Sprout Labs LLC

Why we love this app

This app is truly an interactive textbook, with lots of pictures, and easy to understand text that is accessible for all ages. If children aren’t up to the task of reading themselves, the app reads the information for them! With quizzes and fun facts it’s perfect for learning about environmental science.

What it teaches and how it works

Children can choose between six ecosystems to explore. They are presented with an encyclopedia-style entry that provides and overview of the ecosystem. They can swipe through fun facts and gallery images and take a pop quiz. The quizzes are leveled and make connections to Bloom’s Taxonomy. There is even the option to watch handpicked YouTube videos that showoff each ecosystem.

Why your kid won't be able to put it down

Your students will like how they can read along (or just listen) to the text being read aloud. Children can explore the different features and will be happy that a traditional textbook isn’t needed for their research project.
